One big item off my List here!
Yay!! I am working from home now as a Consultant Curator with Shopo!
Doing something that I love, am surrounded by pretty things, do loads of window shopping, talk to so many talented people almost every day and working with some of the most creative, talented, passionate and lovely human beings!!!
Who wouldn’t want that??
And I get paid for it 🙂 Am very excited and happy. Working with a start-up lets one learn a lot and gives a lot of exposure also. It is a bit crazy right now – the learning curve and organizing-the-routine part. Have to get the right balance of work and working-from-home but am sure will get there soon.
The best part – I am there for N, don’t have to travel Bangalore’s jam-packed roads every day, and get my dose of creative stuff every day!!
I am loving it!! Cheers to new beginnings 🙂
BTW – Did you guys check out the Orange Bicycle giveaway at my other blog. Hop over and participate. Very cute little gifts sponsored by TOB.
Happy Onam and have a great weekend!!

Woohoo! 🙂 Sounds really really exciting 🙂
Wish u all the best.. I’m sure u’ll shine
Thank you Shruti!! 🙂 I wonder how I missed your comment though 😦 saw it just now.
hey congrats on your achievement. Sounds exciting. What exactly will be you be doing? (well, sorry for being nosy here).
Thanks Uma!! You are not being nosy at all 🙂
Shopo is a place where various different sellers get a chance to open a virtual shop and showcase their stuff (think Etsy). Now we get various applications for shops from different sellers every other day. Also, at the same time, we are constantly looking for the best of designers and artists to join us on Shopo. Every single seller on shopo is screened and selected or handpicked!
Here is where the curators come in! Basically, Shopo’s curators will decide and approve sellers that will be going on Shopo. They will also search for and bring on board new exciting sellers to Shopo. Do Curator blogs on Shopo’s blog based on their favourite picks from Shopo, and so on!
So essentially, all I have to do is window shop and look for new brands all day, and when I find an interesting brand, try and pull it on Shopo so you could do more shopping! 🙂
wow..sounds great..and what can be better than the fact that you love the work!..wishing you all the very best…
p.s. *hopeful of a party invite 😉
Thanks Uma! Definitely, when party happens u’ll be here!
Wow…Way to go Girl. I knew, you’ll make us proud. Doing what one likes to do and getting paid as well is the ultimate achievement. People tend to loose focus in the mad rush. There would be hiccups, comparisions, dont let them pull you down, ever ever ever.
Love,
Punita Di
Thank you so much di!!! 🙂 I agree it is very rare that we get tpo do what we like and get paid for it too! And yes there are people who tend to do the if and but and compare and degrade any and all work but I promise I won’t let it get in my way of being happy 🙂 Thanks!
It is always wonderful to be working in a field that is also a passion! Feeling good for you.
Thank you so much Sandhya!! I am so loving it 🙂
Great news Simz! Glad to hear you are doing what makes you happy! And nothing like working from home if you can swing it 🙂
Thank you Divs!! I finally am doing something that makes me happy 🙂 The working from home will need to be streamlined and planned better but like I said i am getting there… i never thought I would want to work from home but every day is a new learning 🙂
congrats! treat kab hai?!
Thanks Chox!! Party – Jaldi se. I would love to meet up 🙂 I am going to be out for most of the next month (N’s holidays for a month) but once I am back will definitely plan a get together 🙂
Yo babe. Lemme know. Can move my sked around with a bit of notice.
Hey Congratulations 🙂
and like they say working on your passion and interests is the cherry on the cake.
Thanks Puneet!! Had been looking for some thing like for a very long time… finally 🙂
congrts sim! so happy for u 🙂 i know u will make a name for yourself wherever you go.. best wishes 🙂
Thanks Brinda!! 🙂 Big hug for you!!
This is so cool Simran – Congrats and All the very best for this new venture – sounds like a great fit for you for sure !! :).
Thank you so much Aparna!! 🙂
Very nice. Congratulations and good luck.
Think Belaku Trust. And NGOs. Hmm, how does one brainwash a Shopo Curator? 😀
Sangitha – NGOs are definitely on our list. The plan is to grow a lil bigger and set up a whole unit dedicated to them, in a few months time. All of us at shopo love NGOs and rural artists!! Its just that we need some time to get things in place to be able to provide them support – they need a diff kind of support than the urban-on-facebook artsists 🙂
